Latitude/Longitude 34° 11' 51" N, 119° 10' 34" W

Where the Pacific Coast Highway meets the 101, Oxnard is located about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 35 miles south of Santa Barbara. Oxnard's largest industry is agriculture, followed closely by the defense industry. Oxnard is the home to two military installations; Port Hueneme and Point Mugu.

As you enter Oxnard, the first thing you're likely to spot are the surrounding farmlands. With its patchwork of crops and orchards nestled along a narrow coastal plain, Oxnard boasts some of the richest agricultural land in California. A mix of climate, rich topsoil, adequate water and a long harvest season provide favorable conditions for such high-value crops as strawberries and artichokes.

With such fertile lands, it stands to reason that Oxnard enjoys temperate weather all year round. In fact, weather conditions here remain fairly constant throughout the year with an average temperature of 73 degrees.

Oxnard also has some of the nicest beaches in Ventura County, boasting 20 miles of clean, pretty, uncrowded coastline with white sandy beaches and gorgeous sunsets.  It also hosts beautiful sand dunes that have been featured in many Hollywood films.

The Channel Islands Harbor is home to not only a Farmers Market, but also features a Seafood Market full of our local bounty. The harbor pulses with plenty to do from dining, festivals, kayak rentals, boat charters, whale watching and a Maritime museum. There are plenty of bike paths and golf courses nearby for the outdoor enthusiast.

Oxnard is home to the annual Strawberry Festival which attracts over 30,000 visitors each year.  One can experience such delights as strawberry pizza and strawberry nachos, accompanied by a lovely strawberry champagne!  Hailed as "California's Strawberry Coast" Oxnard boasts fields of fresh strawberries, roadside fruit stands, and the nationally recognized California Strawberry Festival held the third weekend in May. In late July, strawberries make way for spicy foods and sizzling entertainment at the Oxnard Salsa Festival which is held in the historic downtown area.  Also downtown you'll find the world-class Carnegie Art Museum, international dining, galleries, community theater, and a 14-screen cineplex.

Housing in Oxnard takes many forms - from the charming older established neighborhoods and fabulous beach houses to a wide variety of beautiful newer housing tracts and condominium developments.  The harbor area has elegant waterfront homes which grace the canals and there are two new exquisite developments; Seabridge and Westport.  As you refine your home search, you'll find that Oxnard truly has something for everyone!
